What is the fuel surcharge or fuel credit?
This is extra money the manufacturers have agreed to pay since the price of fuel went over $1.30 per gallon. It is in addition to the per mile rate paid for delivery of their unit.

Are you required to stop at weigh stations while under dispatch?
Since you will have a commercial transport plate on the unit you will be considered a commercial vehicle and will be required to pull into weigh stations. Some states may have weight requirements that may make you exempt in that state.

Who covers liability while under dispatch?
Quality covers the liability as well as cargo insurance for physical damage to the dispatched units.

I have a nine foot flatbed on my truck. Can I use that to pull campers?
Yes, if you angle the back corners at a 45 degree angle. Otherwise you risk damaging the trailers during a turn.

Can I use a short bed truck with a sliding fifth wheel?
No, there has been too much damage in the past and we no longer take on short bed trucks for that reason. You need at least 46 inches of clearance from the fifth wheel plate to the rear of the cab for turning.

How much should I plate my pickup truck for?
We suggest a commercial plate between 20,000 – 26,000 lbs. This plate weight should be high enough to cover both the truck and trailer.

What type of insurance do I need for my truck?
Commercial insurance with a minimum liability of $500,000 is required. Quality also requires that the driver have physical damage coverage on their truck.

Can I tow a vehicle with an automatic transmission?
There are some vehicles with automatic transmissions that can be towed. Saturn, Honda, some newer Chevy Cavaliers, Jeeps with manual shift four wheel drive are some examples. Contact your dealer for more information. You can also add a lube pump or a drive shaft disconnect coupler to some automatics for towing. Contact a recruiter for more information.

Can I drive a RV that is over 26,001 lbs GVWR with air brakes on a regular operator license?
No, you must have at least a CDL B to operate a commercial vehicle over 26,001 lbs. You will also need to have air brakes on your license.

Do all of the vehicles have hitches already on them?
No, most of the motor homes have hitches and light hookups but trucks and buses do not. You will need a few different electric plug adaptors for the lights.

How do I hook up to a truck or bus if it doesn't have a hitch?
There are different removable hitches available for sale at Quality or through the local market.

Do I need a tow vehicle?
Although it is not a requirement, most drivers find that they can increase their profit if they have one. It also works as a great tax write off.

If I don’t have a tow vehicle how will I return from a trip?
It is up to the contractor to set up their return travel arrangements. Some contractors use the train, bus or airplane. You will want to check out prices, locations and schedules ahead of time.
