The recreational vehicle industry has seen unbelievable growth in recent years, and Quality Drive-Away has been there as an industry leader in RV transportation. In 2005, the RV industry shipped over 384,000 units according to RVIA statistics. 2006 saw an increase of 1.6% to 390,500 new units shipped to dealers. Today a record 8.2 million RVs are on the roads in the United States. A University of Michigan study estimates that number will climb to nearly 8.5 million by 2010.

What does this mean to the drivers at Quality Drive-Away? It means job stability. As a diversified company, Quality Drive-Away works with multiple manufacturers in the RV, truck, and bus industry. That helps ensure that when other RV transport companies are slow, Quality Drive-Away will still have freight.

As an example of this diversity, in 2006 Quality Drive-Away contracted with Blue Bird School Bus to move their buses from La Fayette, GA to the school districts that purchased them. That accounted for about 4,000 bus shipments. In March, 2007 Blue Bird and Quality Drive-Away entered into an exclusive contract to move all of their buses out of La Fayette and Fort Valley, GA. This should push bus shipments past 6,500 for 2007.

We have three divisions that utilize independent contractors to transport RVs, trucks, buses, vans, boats, etc.

  • Motorized: These contractors drive the unit to the delivery destination.

  • Towable: These contractors are owner-operators who pull travel trailers, fifthwheel trailers and other types of trailers to the delivery destination.

  • Flatbed: These contractors are owner-operators who load multiple units on a 48-foot to 52-foot trailer and haul them to the delivery destination.

Driver Orientation and Training

All of our contractors are required to attend an orientation class where they receive the appropriate training required for the position. These orientations include a drug screen and are held at our various terminals throughout the year. Please check with our recruiters for exact dates, times and locations.
